Emily & Me

I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Phil 3:13-14

21 weeks, 2 days

We went to the doctor's today for an ultrasound! It was amazing! I got about 10 pictures of the baby. I will show you my favorite one. He said the baby is very healthy, growing wonderfully, and is very active.

He also believes it is a girl! He said he saw no 'boy parts' and that of course, there is always the possibility that it could be a 'late bloomer' but he thinks it is a girl!

We are very excited and have been thinking of girl names this evening. We came up with Emily Ryann and really really like it. Emily is Old German/Latin and it means 'eager' and Ryann is Celtic/Gaelic, and it means 'little leader.' The names are a neat mix of both our heritages and of course, Ryann is a mix of both our first names (cheesy, I know, but still cool). Plus, we just really like the way it sounds. So what do you think?

Hey Ann, Congrats on having a girl (maybe)! I still don't know what I'm having 'cause I'm only 16.5 weeks. I'm a little bit hoping for a girl, but I'll be thrilled to have a boy too. I'm glad your sickness is gone. Mine has mostly disappeared too. I went on a ladies retreat with my church a few weekends ago and amazingly enough I wasn't sick the whole weekend and after that it's been soo much better. I guess God answered my prayer to feel okay that weekend and then kept it up! I already can't wear my normal pants 'cause it's really uncomfortable. So, I've been wearing my maternity clothes which makes me look way more pregnant than I am. But it's kind of fun to have a belly. I don't like your choice for middle name for the baby, but that's cuz I'm very uncheesy. And I'm biased because I have a friend whose name is Marshal Andrew, well his parents names are Marshal and Drew. He absolutely hates his name, and goes by Andy. I didn't even know about his name until the last few years he was too embarrassed to tell anyone. So, that's why I don't like the middle name. No offense and I really don't care if you name the baby that. :) Everyone get's to choose what to name their baby and I know I got a LOT of people telling my husband and I we shouldn't name our son Elijah. So anyhow I'm really glad things are going well for you and will be praying that everything keeps going great! :-D -Kate

Hi Ann and Ryan!! Congratulations!! That is awsome, a girl is fun. It is so cool the relationships Daddys have with their daughters. It will be fun! I actually like the name you have (so far). I put so far, because, namings can change. And I really hope you don't have any unexpected surprises. I was lucky with Hannah we could really tell it was a girl part, it really is quite different than a boy part :-) Do you get to bring a vhs tape and record the ultrasound? I am really fortunate to have all 4 kids recorded! They love to watch them. Anyhow, hope all is well!

Love ya,
Michele
