Wow, I can't believe it has been two months since my last entry. I think I have gotten a little lazy. :-) A lot has happened, let me fill you in!
To start with, yes, I am still sleeping on the couch, and loving it! I miss Ryan a little because of it, but I usually just fell asleep as soon as my head hit that pillow anyway, so I am not missing a lot! And he says that he enjoys being able to stretch out on our bed, and not having to listen to my snoring. :-)
No, I am not sick anymore, thank God! But I still cannot stand the thought of texas toast, pancakes or fried chicken! Yuck! My newest obsession is Taco Bell. If I have craved anything, it has been that!
So hearing the heartbeat was awesome, and it really eased my mind a lot, but the appointment was over so quickly, and I have found myself wishing I could go every other week to find out new things about my baby. Reading books is helpful, but still, they can't tell me about my baby, just babies in general, so it's not as good as hearing it from my doctor. The next appointment after that was exactly the same as the one before. We just listened to the heartbeat, and that was it. Now I am looking forward to seeing the baby on the ultrasound (Oct. 10th!) and finding out whether it is a boy or a girl! I was supposed to go for that appointment on the 5th, but they had to reschedule me. So what is God trying to teach me lately? Patience!!
According to my books, the baby is 10 inches from head to heel now! That is so amazing to me! My belly is growing, though I still have not gained a pound. I have been feeling the baby roll around a little and every now and then I feel a few thumps, but no distinct kicks yet. It is still a cool feeling, and I look forward to feeling it more often and more distinctly, though I know I will not be as excited when it is keeping me up at night!
Now, I live in my one pair of maternity jeans and I have only about 2 shirts. Nothing else is comfortable, and I really need to get to the store to get some more clothes.
By the way, I found this really awesome picture online, and it made me happy so I want to put it on here. I would love to try and take a photo like this when our baby finally comes!

Ryan recently got a new job, and is really glad he made the switch. I am too, because he is a lot less stressed out. We made the decision to get rid of our ridiculous cable TV package (which we were so addicted to) as well as our home phone (which we never used) to save on some unnecessary expenses. It has been a lot more peaceful around the house not always having the TV on (though I still pop in one of the seasons of Friends quite often), and it has helped me to find other, better, things to do with my time (like practice my guitar).
We have been getting along really well lately, and he loves to talk to the baby and sing weird songs and tell it secrets! He is so cute and I cannot wait to see him with our baby in his arms!
We also decided that we couldn't put off purchasing a car any longer. If you don't already know the situation with our van, let me just tell you! First of all, I have to say, the van has been amazing! It has not cost us much money at all to keep up (besides ridiculous gas mileage) and it has lasted us so long. However, the AC and heater is completely broken, the passenger side window does not roll down, there is no handle on the driver side door (so we have to climb in through the passenger side door), the back doors don't open, the latch on the back window is broken so it rattles when we drive it, the blinker mechanism recently broke, and there is a little leak in the roof and when it rains the ceiling is soaked. Also, it is not really a safe car anymore, and I would never put a car seat in it.
Considering all this, we decided to go ahead and get a new vehicle. We are so blessed to have an account with USAA (a bank/insurance company for military families) and they not only approved us for way more than we needed, but they made it so easy for us to get this car. I was able to set up the loan, automatic draft, and insurance policy all at once when we decided on the car we wanted! And let me just say, we love, love, love, love, LOVE our new car! It is a 2005 Kia Spectra5. It's got great gas mileage, and it only has 24k miles on it, plus a ton of other cool features like a sunroof and an alarm system! :-) I am so excited, and so praising God!
I want to register soon - this week! I am also going to try and find the crib I want in a store locally, and if I can't, I think I will order it online. I found it really cheap and with free shipping at this one website.
One last thing - I am very excited because Ryan and I are going to Virginia this weekend with his family, because his dad is graduating from college! We are leaving Friday and are going to drive our new car (yay!). His dad is also going to take us to Busch Gardens on Sunday, and I am excited because I have never been. And also, I have an excuse not to ride any rides!
Well, I have had a lot to catch up on, and am sure I have left a lot out, but I am working on not being so lazy, so hopefully it will not be another two months before I post anything! Thank you for your prayers and your excitement, it has been really encouraging! And also, I want to thank our mystery gift-giver for all the baby gifts you have been leaving on our porch. Whoever you are, thank you so much! You don't know how encouraging it is to us! Thank you, thank you, and thank you!
