I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Phil 3:13-14

Mamarazzi

My life has changed so much in such a short period of time. I look at Emily and I honestly can't remember what things were like before she was born. These four months have flown by, and I just can't get over how much she grows and changes every single day. She amazes me, and she is still my little sidekick, even when she wakes up to eat at 2am.

She has been sleeping through the night, 6-8 hours usually. Last night she didn't sleep at all, but that was the first time in a long time she has done that. I still am not getting much sleep. Now when she is awake, I play with her much more because she seems to need so much more attention, and she just soaks in everything she sees. So, I don't get much done during the day, and when she goes down to sleep, I just want to get whatever I can done for myself. For example, it is 12:25AM right now and I am writing a blog instead of sleeping, because if I don't do it now, who knows when I will be able to again.

I have been having a hard time lately dealing with the fact that I can't really do whatever I want anymore. I really miss being able to hang out with my friends all the time. I miss being young and having few responsibilities, but I love my life so much, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. It has just been an adjustment, for sure.

Emily learned to roll over! I was worried she would just do it that day and then 'forget' but she has been doing it ever since. She rolls from her back to her belly, and can wiggle all around, even forward, though she is not officially crawling yet. She also sits forward when she is in the car seat and swing. I am really excited for the day that she sits up on her own. I really think she is getting there.

She also laughs a lot more now. It is the most wonderful sound! Ryan got her to laugh in the bathtub tonight, and he just kept doing it over and over again just so we could hear it. I think it was the longest bath she has ever taken!

I think Ryan had a great father's day. I took care of every feeding and every diaper so that he would not have to, and he just spent the day relaxing. I made him a collage of pictures of him and Emily together. I hung it on the wall in our bedroom before he woke up so that he saw it first thing in the morning. He loves it!

Father's day was also my mother's birthday, and Emily's 4 month birthday! Emily's 4 month checkup is this Wednesday, and I just can't wait to find out how much she weighs and how tall she is...she has grown so much! I am not looking forward to giving her more shots though...

4 Months Old!

I love having mommy friends, especially Christian ones. I really love spending time with my friend Alicia, who is Ethan's mommy. :-) We could talk for days about all things, and I always look forward to hanging out with her, especially when we go to Target or the mall. Even with 2 or 3 babies, it is so much fun! I think it would be the funniest thing if Ethan and Emily ended up dating when they are older! Or at least we can show them the pictures and videos and embarrass them!
